10-year-old trans girl debuts at New York Fashion Week

Noella McMaher became the youngest trans model to walk on a catwalk during New York Fashion Week for designer Mel Akinson with the Trans Clothing Company brand.

The fashion company is dedicated to producing clothing for the LGBT+ community, especially for trans people and those who identify as “gender non-binary.” Likewise, the brand is dedicated to training and employing members of sexual diversity those who are unemployed.

“As mother of a transgender girl, it is my duty to protect her and make sure it’s safe. But Noella is an activist for the rights of transgender people and she wants to make herself known, ”the minor’s mother, Dee McMaher, told “Metro UK”.

It should be noted that Noella began her gender transition six years ago, however, her parents consider that she is still too young to start a physical transition with hormonal treatments or sex reassignment surgery.

“Ella she refused to wear boy’s clothes and he would get angry because he was so young, he knew what he wanted but he didn’t have the words to say it,” added the mother.

On the other hand, Noella’s parents assure that due to the minor’s exposure in the media, various trans people contact each other for advice and support.

As well as her gender transition, Noella’s career has been forging for some time in the fashion industry and her presentation at New York Fashion Week reserved for her work until November 2022.
