The circular detailing the health rules that will have to be respected from the start of the school year on August 29 in compulsory education was sent to schools this Friday.
The evolution of the health situation has made it possible to gradually lift most restrictions, in society and at school. The current epidemiological context makes it possible to continue this normalization.
However, health experts do not rule out an epidemic rebound in the fall. This is why a few basic measures still apply. It is mainly aeration and ventilation.
Aeration:
Providing fresh air is an effective way to reduce the risk of contamination by an infectious disease, recalls the circular. Air currents prevent micro-droplets from spreading and getting stuck in the air. This is why it is always advisable to open the windows wide before class, between classes, breaks, and following class, and to leave at least two open during class.
Regarding the use of CO2 detectors, the circular recalls the conditions for obtaining aid for equipment.
All these measures must be subject to particularly increased vigilance in so-called “intersection” premises (rooms reserved for staff members, canteens, sports halls).
Hand washing:
It is still recommended for students and staff members to wash their hands several times a day with soap or hydroalcoholic gel.
Vaccination:
The circular also repeats that vaccination greatly limits the risk of developing serious forms of Covid. Access to the fourth dose should be extended in the coming months.
Masque:
Finally, while wearing a mask cannot be made compulsory under any circumstances at this stage, neither for staff members nor for students, all those who wish to wear it must be authorized to do so.
