Inflation recorded in July stands at 7.7%

According to the same source, this increase is explained by the 12% increase in the consumer price index (CPI) for food products, once morest 5% for the CPI for non-food products.

Indeed, the health sector recorded an increase of 0.2%, while the transport sector recorded an increase of 18.3%. In this context, core inflation increased by 6.5% compared to July 2021.

From July 2022 to June 2022, the CPI increased by 0.9%, as a result of the variation of CPI for food and non-food products is respectively 1.6% and 0.5%. As for underlying inflation, it increased by 0.5% in the space of a month.

Regarding the most significant price increases of food products, the source disclosed the following data; “fruits (6.4%), vegetables (3.7%), dairy products (1.9%), fish and seafood (5.2%)”.

While the most significant increase on the side of non-food products is that of fuel with 4.4%. According to the cities, prices increased by 5.5% throughout the territory, with 4.9% in Rabat, 5.5% in Casablanca, 6.3% in Marrakech, 5.6% in Tangier and 4 2% in Agadir.
