The young man was wanted by relatives in Charlotte County.
The police force in the Florida area, in the United States, arrested a high school teacher for hiding a teenager in her house, who days before had been reported missing.
At the time, Kelly Simpson hid the young man following finding him in an unknown place and kept him inside his home while he knew he had a report for being missing.
The authorities located the minor, following several movements in the area and were able to successfully find his location.
“Kelly Simpson was arrested for interfering with the custody of a minor following picking up the minor from an unknown location and hiding him inside her home while knowing he was in missing person danger. Simpson currently works for Charlotte County Public Schools,” the investigators said.
The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office said this is an ongoing investigation and asked anyone with information to contact police.
In addition, he warned that “any person who has knowledge of the whereregardings of a missing minor or helps to hide a minor can be charged with a crime.”
Simpson was posted on $5,000 bond Wednesday, jail records obtained by the New York Post show.
The Charlotte County School District has placed the teacher on administrative leave from her position at Charlotte High School.
