Cai Shiping” coincidentally met Yang Yaodong, coincidentally met my youth

[Cai Shiping Column of Love Media]Go to the radio station early and watch the live interview materials in the evening. Sitting in Director Lin Shuwei’s office, he buried his head and lost his mind. Suddenly, the company knocked on the door and said that some VIPs will arrive first. Can I come in and sit? sure. The director’s room was originally a VIP room.

As soon as the visitor sat down, I immediately raised the name “Yang Yaodong”. That’s right, Yang Yaodong. Because, in the past few days, the entertainment news has reported that he returned to Taiwan to participate in a folk song concert following several years of violation. But I can recognize him, it’s purely an instinct to walk through life, there’s no way, he was a very popular folk singer in my youth!

He was very polite and said that he often read my comments or articles on the Internet or in the media. Yang Yaodong is only a few years older than me. To say that he is a popular folk singer of my generation is correct. When he was still a student, he emerged in folk songs. He can be considered a folk singer who has successfully switched from folk songs to pop songs. The well-known “Girl from the Mountains”, “Seasonal Rain” and “Saturday” in the album “Seasonal Rain” were very popular at the time, and now, there are still people singing on KTV.

In my memory, Yang Yaodong is not the kind of young man who is very clear, but he is fleshy, but has a very good sense of rhythm. When he sang “Saturday”, he sang and danced. In those days, he was very popular. Ting, handsome and sunny, he left a very clear impression on me.

We sat in the director’s room and chatted for more than half an hour. The show he is going to be on is the scene of Li Mingyi. He is very dedicated and arrives early. I am very lucky to chat with this folk singer who became popular when I was young for a long time.

He and Cui Ailian, the sister of the smashing “goddess” Cui Taijing at the time, and the very beautiful Cui Ailian, their love and marriage, due to Cui Ailian’s sudden death from asthma, attracted a lot of attention at the time.

As I looked at him, the news of Cui Ailian’s passing almost twenty years ago came to my mind. Yang Yaodong said that following Cui Ailian passed away suddenly, he fell into depression for a whole year. He wrote a diary every day and wrote down what he wanted to say to Ailian, like a monologue and a dialogue.

A year later, he knew that he might no longer be indulged like this, so he packed his bags, finished his diary, and went to the United States to join his family. This is why he has settled in Las Vegas for more than 20 years. Away from Taiwan is also far from the homeland of some kind of emotional injury.

We chatted a lot, from each other’s old parents, to those who are no longer young in life, all kinds of sincerity towards ourselves. He said that he plays tennis, takes care of the restaurant opened by his parents, accompanies his elderly parents, plays electric guitar, and cherishes everything he owns.

I said, I run horses, I write books, I comment, and I cherish everything I have now.

Inevitably, he asked me what I thought regarding Taiwan’s politics and the future of both sides of the Taiwan Strait. I don’t shy away either, just like my comments on the air, my Facebook articles, I tell the truth regarding my observations. Until, Li Mingyi’s enterprise came to invite him into the live broadcast room.

I took him in and saw the old Yang Yaodong, the Yang Yaodong who sang “Saturday”, in the 1980s and 1990s, our youthful years, closed the door, locked in an era that will never come back.

Fortunately, we all know how to cherish. Who has never been young? Who has never been beautiful?
