Buraidah: The Riyadh Labor Court has asked the private company to provide service benefits and work experience certificate to the worker who was dismissed without reason. After receiving the complaint, the company informed the authorities through the Ministry of Justice’s electronic portal ‘Najis Center for Judicial Service’, but there was no response.

The court which issued the order clarified that in case the employer does not cooperate with the court proceedings or appear in the court, the judgment is final. The court also said that there is no opportunity to file an appeal.

The court was approached by an employee who was fired following the closure of a branch of the company, local media reported. The Company shall pay to the complainant a sum equal to two months’ wages as a remedy for illegal dismissal under Article 77 of the Labor Law, in addition to post-service benefits of arrears of salary, half a month’s salary for the first five years and one year’s salary for the subsequent period.

The company should also provide the work experience certificate free of cost to the complainant so as not to hinder him from getting a job in another organization. The court order has also directed that the number of years worked, the nature of the job and the final salary should be mentioned in the certificate.
