A union member of the Jogye Order, who was assaulted by several monks during a one-man protest, filed a complaint with the police on charges of special assault.
Park Mo, a union member of the Jogye Order of the KCTU, filed a complaint at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul today (18th) and requested an investigation into the charges of special injuries once morest them, saying that there were three monks who directly took part in the assault, not the previously known two.
Park said that there were rumors that a preliminary meeting was held the day before the group assault, and asked to investigate whether monk Ja-seung, the owner of Bongeunsa Temple, etc.
He also said that the police should apologize for the fact that the police at the scene did not actively stop the assault, did not arrest the current offender, and did not quickly secure evidence such as a bucket of human beings.
Park, who was fired from the Jogye Order on the 14th for criticizing the group, was assaulted by several monks during a one-man protest.
A monk from Bongeunsa, who was involved in the incident, issued a confession statement two days later, saying, “Even if I might not control my emotions at the moment, it was a mistake that deserved apology and repentance over and over once more.”
