This is probably a leak the devs would have preferred to avoid: the resale giant Amazon has just published the product sheet of Dead Island 2, probably a little too soon. It had been a while since the clues concerning a return of Dead Island 2 were accumulating. On several occasions, the studio confirmed to us that the game had not been canceled, and last April, a journalist mentioned a presentation this year. It seems to be on the right track since eight years following its formalization at E3 2014 (yes already), the survival game has just appeared on Amazon.

At the time of writing these lines, the three product sheets (PS5, PS4 et Xbox) are still accessible and we took care to take a screenshot. On these cards, we can discover a jacket, probably using the new key art, but also a release date set for February 3, 2023. Some screenshots are also added as well as a complete description.

We are not going to repeat the entire description but this one explains that we will have the choice to embody 6 different characters, which will have their own personality and their own dialogues. Their abilities will be fully customizable with, we can read, a brand new skill system to re-specialize at any time. The plot will always take place in Los Angeles, with iconic corners like Beverly Hills and Venice Beach, through a first-person action RPG where we will have to face dozens of different types of zombies.

There you have it, enough information to confirm a return of the game. An announcement in the coming days? We imagine that the official presentation will take place soon, perhaps in the next few hours. Unless the Dambuster studio is waiting for the Gamescom conference next week? As they say, wait & see.
