Karina, 22, loses her fight against cancer, her family respects her last wish in the cemetery of Vilvoorde: “What a beautiful gesture!”

Karina Sandojan tragically lost her life at the age of 22 following losing her battle with cancer on August 2. The family of Armenian origin had been living in Vilvoorde for a long time and were hit hard by the terrible news. His brother says that a farewell ceremony was organized where some 1,000 people went.

When Karina found out she wouldn’t make it, she wrote a note on her cell phone saying she wanted everything white on the occasion, including the roses. About 3,000 roses were brought by all the people who attended the ceremony.

One last nice gesture

But Karina’s brother, Suto, decided not to throw the flowers: “We thought my sister would have preferred them to be distributed among the graves in the Vilvoorde cemetery. Armenian tradition prevents her from being buried here, as she wished, but we wanted her to still exist in this place. »

“Somehow his heart stays here. It was typical of my sister anyway. She always wanted to help and make everyone happy. I hope she is watching us from above, ”continues the young man. This one specifies that many reactions were emitted by the people who passed by there. And naturally, the community of Vilvoorde is grateful to Karina. Suto says he receives many “What a nice gesture” or “It’s nice of him”.
