The message will indicate which of the three locations that they marked as their options has been designated for the electoral day of Sunday, October 2. The emails will arrive until Thursday, August 18. If you don’t see it, you can check your spam folder.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DIDN’T CHOOSE MY POLLING LOCATION?

The more than 18 million citizens who did not choose their polling place, that is, they never registered on the web, in the coming days -in this month of August- they will be able to find out where the ONPE assigned them to vote, through the page of electoral consultation, which will be updated at that time. This will be announced along with the final list of table members.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CHOOSING MY POLLING PLACE?

  • Less exposure to COVID-19 contagion (by not having to travel by public transport in large districts).
  • Less traffic and less pollution.
  • You don’t have to make big trips.
  • Savings in mobility expenses.
  • The process is streamlined.

IF I CHOSE MY POLLING PLACE, WILL IT BE THE SAME FOR THE OTHER ELECTIONS?

No. The polling place must be chosen once more. Now it is regarding regional and municipal elections, so you should vote only in the district where you live or indicate the DNI, according to the list that closed in October 2021. The ONPE, for example, explains that the Past elections were general and the President and members of Congress were elected, so people might choose another district within the region where they reside or indicate their document.
