The new representatives of the people made their parliamentary return this Tuesday, August 16 in the hemicycle of the National Assembly. This first meeting led to the designation of the new office of this chamber headed by the outgoing president, Isidore Mvouba.
It was held this Tuesday, August 16, at the Palace of Parliament, in Brazzaville, the inaugural session of the fifteenth legislature of the National Assembly 2022-2027 following the legislative elections last July. It gave rise to the renewal of the office of this institution of the Republic. Isidore Mvouba was proposed for the post of President of the National Assembly by the Parliamentary Majority. The only candidate for his own succession, the latter was re-elected with 142 votes out of the 148 deputies registered for the vote. Speaking on the occasion of his re-election, Isidore Mvouba urged the newly elected to learn paraphrasing the President of the Republic Denis Sassou Nguesso during his speech on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the independence of our country. «J‘calls on the young elected officials to make their assiduous apprenticeship with the elders and at the school of life, a school of life which is not always at the command of ease, glory and non-effort », he quoted. Continuing his speech, Isidore Mvouba explained that « coneand andxhortation is worth its weight in gold. It is a compass intended to help young MPs avoid the pitfalls of life. » He was placed at the head of a bureau composed of seven members. It is Léon Alfred Opimbat, Vice President; Second vice-president, Roland Bouity Viaudo; First Secretary, Fernand Sabaye; Second Secretary, Kignoumbi Kia Mboungou; First Quaestor, Abel Joël Owassa and Second Quaestor, Destiny Doukaga.
