We are not all in the same boat: a player who had lost his account managed to recover it in GTA Online, before realizing that he had an insane amount of GTA$. And Rockstar obviously didn’t… see anything.

Money is the sinews of war, including in Grand Theft Auto. This is not only the main motivation of the various main characters, but also of many players in GTA Online who can then buy inconceivable goods. So there are those who “honestly” earn their bread (by committing a few crimes, of course), those who cheat thanks to hacking and… those who get hacked, without asking anyone.
This is precisely the case of MoistWave, a player who shared his lucky find on the net with as much transparency as possible. The poor guy had lost access to his account and simply stopped playing GTA Online: it was only recently that he managed to recover his username and password, before realizing that his account had been hacked.
But more fear than harm sincehe ended up with trillions of dollars worth of chips at the Diamond Casino and Resort. He also spoke to PC Games Nsupporting screenshot.
Honestly, I don’t know what happened when my account got hacked. I hadn’t noticed the hack since I was no longer active in the game: I saw it when I had to reset my password and I also saw that the email linked to my account had been changed. Since I recovered my account, everything is fine.

Hacking another player’s account to put money in it (and not put it in his own account), that may seem absurd. And yet, the technique can have several uses: first and very simply, to use another account by freely using the hack and blocking the access of the main user. This then allows you to play quietly without fear of possible banishment from Rockstar, since following all, you don’t lose anything that doesn’t belong to you. (like identity theft).
Another technique is to access game files of other players and modify them to download different scripts, 3D models and other textures and influence the game of the other. A nice way to troll, in itself.
In this case, it would seem that this first option was chosen by the hacker. Even more intriguingly, MoistWave admits that Rockstar did not ban him in any way and even following recovering his character (now a billionaire, therefore), his bank account remained as it was. A rather happy ending for this player, now a true king of virtual oil.
