A 10-year-old boy was found dead in his home, located in Manantay, Peru, following leaving a painful video in which he explains the reasons why he committed suicide.
María Chino Barreto, the minor’s mother, was the one who found him hanging when he returned from work on August 7.
The minor, crying, made a video in which he explained why he wanted to take his own life: “You always yell at us, you were always like that, bad mommy, you hit us, everything bothered you (…) You always said ‘why have I had children? Why don’t they die?’” he says in the video.

The little boy lived in a humble house with his mother, stepfather and four brothers. Neighbors of the family confirmed to local media that the child was mistreated.
For her part, the mother of the minor acknowledged that on several occasions she yelled at her children and even insulted him, but that she never hit him. “I haven’t punished him and I haven’t hit him either. My husband told me that I didn’t have to yell at him or insult him, that I shouldn’t treat him like my enemy,” Barreto told the local media.
