Which makes Saga of Sins unique is its stained glass style, the combination of a mystical scenario and the arcade. Combining action and adventure, the title from the German studio Bonus Level Entertainment takes its inspiration from the stained glass windows of the Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch. It thus embodies the virtuous cleric Cecil, capable of penetrating people’s minds by transforming himself into a demonic creature. You can become, for example, a ferocious gargoyle or a howling werewolf. Your mission : defeat the seven deadly sins and liberate the village of Sinwellplague-ridden.
Of course, each creature has its own set of skills and attributes that can be improved via gold obtained from enemies. Once unlocked, you switch from one to the other on the fly. If the conflict, at first glance, seems well defined, the studio suggests that the whole thing will be more nuanced. Sinwell plagued by evil or Cecil sinking into madness? We will have to wait for the release to find out more.
For now, Saga of Sins is slated for release on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PS4, Switch, and PC in Q1 2023.
