The love story between actress Karen Martínez and Juanes began more than 20 years ago. He, a young singer, and she, one of the most recognized models in the country, coincided in the recording of the video ‘Podemos harmos’. Augusto Ocampo responds to Juanes’ ‘sell country’.
That same day, they decided to eat together with the recording team in a Paisa restaurant. At first, the singer’s shyness did not allow anything to come up, but Martínez was braver and decided to talk to him.
“I was the one who started conquering him. He touched me because the man didn’t speak at all, he had to drink a few guaritos to sing me up and talk to him. With his hair standing up and that beard he was very interesting.”Said the model in an interview with Blu Radio in 2018.
For his part, Juanes confessed that at first Karen Martínez did not attract his attention, but he might not stop thinking regarding her. “When I first saw it, it didn’t really catch my attention. After three days I said what is this that I am feeling, I am thinking regarding it”he stated.
They decided to formalize the relationship four months following meeting. The paisa did not miss any opportunity to show how in love he was with the model.

“This has to continue like this, I told him, because I want to marry you, for you to be the mother of my children. We have gone through difficult times, but we have been able to overcome them, now we have a deeper relationship” recalled the singer on the 92.1 Amor station.
Juanes and Karen have built a great family, making the month of August a very special one, since the artist turned on the 9th, Karen celebrates the 14th and they got married on the 6th, in 2004.
The couple celebrated 18 years of marriage and have three children: Luna, 18, Paloma, 17, and Dante, 12; to whom they have given tools, such as love, discipline and work.
