Bathing is of great importance to human health, as it helps to stimulate blood circulation, get rid of bacteria, viruses and germs attached to the surface of the skin, relieve muscle and joint inflammation, and improve mood.
In order to ensure that you get the benefits of bathing, you must be careful not to make a number of mistakes, the most prominent of which are:
1. Take a shower with hot water.
Be sure to shower with cold or lukewarm water, because hot water may lead to burns, and the skin loses the natural oils secreted by the pores, causing dehydration and infections.
2. Take a long shower.
The duration of the shower should range from 5 to 10 minutes, and not more than 15 minutes, because prolonged exposure to water may harm the health of the skin and increase coarseness and hair breakage.
3. Use harsh detergents.
Some people use harsh cleansers when taking a shower, to ensure that the germs and fungi sticking to the surface of the skin are completely eliminated, but the chemicals they contain may damage the health of the skin and cause some diseases, such as acne.
4. Shower only in the morning.
Some people are satisfied with showering in the morning, knowing that taking a shower an hour or two before bed can help them relax, improve mood, overcome insomnia, and allow hair and skin to benefit from the natural oils produced by the pores.
5. Frequent showers.
It is better to shower twice a day – once in the morning and once in the evening, because the amount of sweat produced by the body does not require repeating this process more than once, except in hot weather or following exercising.
Bathing too much may increase the chances of developing immune diseases, as a result of removing the good acids on the surface of the skin that protect the body from infection.
