As the NBA resumes in just over two months, the regular season schedule is slowly beginning to unfold. The Opening Night program is also slowly being confirmed, and if the Warriors will logically be the first to enter the arena once morest the Lakers, their opponents in the last Finals will also be present to open the ball. The Celtics will indeed be opposed to the Sixers from the first evening. An enticing poster between two behemoths from the East in a boiling TD Garden, we are still really looking forward to October 18th.
Like every year, the big games of the season are revealed in dribs and drabs thanks to the inevitable Shams Charania from The Athletic. After teasing us the Christmas Day program, the insider dropped a new spoiler as we like them: Boston will receive Philadelphia to launch the season in the East and the 2022-23 NBA calendar. A duel at the top between KD’s Sixers and Kevin Durant’s Celtics, nothing better to warm up. Wait… Oh no, it’s true that he’s still stuck in Brooklyn, our friend Kevin. At least he’ll be able to lay back on the couch to watch two of last season’s best teams cum on each other’s faces. Two formations with a similar balance sheet in regular last year: 51 victories for 31 defeats in both camps. The campaign of postseason will however have been very different, since the Sixers were out in six games by the Heat in the Conference semi-finals, while Boston failed in the final series. As usual, the NBA is therefore sending heavy to start the season.

The (h)experts who read us will probably embark on a detailed analysis to try to determine the big favorite of this evening, and we intend to help you. Philadelphia – Boston is already classic, but even more so in recent years. Because yeah, getting fucked in the face four times a year – if not more – casually it creates a bond. Last season, the two teams neutralized each other, two everywhere. We will remember, among other things, the snatch victory of the C’s (88-87) during the first duel, the 41 points of Joël Embiid in the victory during the second or the blowout complete eaten by Philly last February (135-87), for the final meeting of the season between the two teams. With some interesting additions on either side – Gallinari and Brogdon for Boston, PJ Tucker for the Sixers – the upcoming encounters should still be lively.
Beyond the field, C’s and 76ers seem among the teams in pole position to welcome Kevin Durant, enough to spice things up a little more. For the moment, the KD file is not settled but the two formations still have a very serious workforce, and seem capable of dominating the East. With Jojo Embiid in steamroller mode and a Jayson Tatum / Jaylen Brown duo that continues to progress, the show on October 18 promises to be exciting!
The Opening Night program is now known, more than waiting for the rest of the NBA calendar. Besides, we hope that the rest of the shocks of the season will soon be revealed, because the wait is already starting to get very long around here.
