Abu Dhabi is preparing to host two of the most anticipated events and the first of their kind in the region.

The two events, the Middle East Design and Building Week and the Middle East Industry and Technology Exhibition, will take place from 12-14 September 2022, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC).

The event aims to showcase the most important technologies and innovative solutions in the field of construction, manufacturing and modern technology.

The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry also seeks, by organizing the two events, in partnership with the Connect Company, to accelerate technological development in the construction, design and manufacturing processes.

The two upcoming events will witness the wide participation of major government institutions, represented by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi, the Ministry of Economy, Emirates Chambers, the Department of Culture and Tourism, the Royal Institute of British Architects, the British Furniture Contracts Association (BCFA), the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and the Industrial Technology Association (MTA). As part of Abu Dhabi’s industrial strategy aimed at strengthening the emirate’s position as the most competitive industrial center in the region, the Abu Dhabi government announced an investment of 10 billion dirhams through six ambitious economic programs that seek to double the size of the manufacturing sector in Abu Dhabi to reach 172 billion dirhams by 2031. .

The initiatives of this strategy will focus on the most important basic industrial sectors, namely: the chemical industries, the machinery and equipment industry, the electrical industries, the electronic industries, the transportation industry, the food and agricultural industry, and the pharmaceutical industries.

The strategy also includes several programs that seek to advance development and promote innovation, as the Abu Dhabi government seeks to invest in the Fourth Industrial Revolution by adopting modern technology and enabling the industrial sector system to provide digital maps according to the geographical information system to search for industrial lands and the import substitution program and strengthen the local supply chain The Value Chain Development Program for Infrastructure Development, the Circular Economy Program, and the Industrial Talent Development Program.

He stressed that the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry seeks to provide a range of opportunities to promote industrial technology and innovative solutions, by organizing each of the two events, with the aim of achieving national strategies by providing a commercial platform for the construction, design and manufacturing sectors, as the two events will be held over three days to enhance business and cooperation. communication and learning.

As the strategic partner of the two events, the Department of Economic Development in Abu Dhabi plays a pivotal role in advancing economic growth and diversification in various sectors in line with Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.
