Fernando Alonso is enjoying the holiday season with Andrea Schlager, his new partner. The 41-year-old will certainly forget all the hardships of Formula 1 in recent weeks.

The short vacation – Formula 1 is currently on its summer break, Spa on August 28 is the next race – suits the Spaniard. He is partly responsible for the fact that a medium-sized earthquake recently occurred away from the race track.
Alonso wanted a new two-year contract from his current employer Alpine (fourth in the World Cup). He was not given that, so he joined Aston Martin-Mercedes (ninth in the World Championship) and inherited the retiring Sebastian Vettel (35) in 2023.
Alonso’s departure meant that Alpine promoted replacement driver Oscar Piastri (21), only the Australian has no keen on the French and joined McLaren-Mercedes. The two parties are now meeting once more in court in Geneva. (yup)
