Kim Joo-hyung leaps to 19th in the world rankings… Korea’s top ranker

Kim Joo-hyeong (20) was ranked as the ‘Korean Top Ranker’ in the men’s golf world rankings.

In the world rankings announced on the 15th (Korean time), Kim Joo-hyung was ranked 19th, up two places from last week. As a result, Kim Joo-hyung climbed to the top of the list of Korean players ahead of Im Seong-jae, who maintained the same 20th place as last week.

Kim Joo-hyung was ranked 132 in the world rankings announced for the first time this year, but climbed up 100 places in regarding 7 months. In particular, Kim Joo-hyeong finished third at the Genesis Scottish Open on the PGA Tour last month and jumped from 61st to 39th in the world ranking.

As a special temporary member, Kim Joo-hyung was tied for 26th at the 3M Open and 7th at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, effectively securing a place on the PGA Tour. In addition, Kim Joo-hyung went straight to the playoffs with PGA Tour members by winning the Wyndham Championship ‘surprise’.

Meanwhile, the world rankings 1 to 4 were the same as last week in the order of Scotty Schaeffler (USA), Cameron Smith (Australia), Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), and Patrick Cantlay (USA). Jon Lam (Spain) pushed Xander Shopley (USA) to 6th and moved up to 5th. Among Korean players, Lee Kyung-hoon (31) maintained 45th place, and Kim Si-woo (27) moved down one place to 63rd.
