Wall Street opens lower on fears of a slowdown in China

Wall Street’s major indices opened their session on Monday, similar to global markets, following weak data from China raised fears of an economic slowdown in the world’s second-largest economy.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell at the open 0.15%, or 50.35 points, to 33710.70 points.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index fell 0.25%, or 10.78 points, to 4269.37 points, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 0.39%, or 50.56 points, to 12,996.63 points.
