The kidneys contribute to cleaning the body of toxins and filtering waste products, and therefore they work all the time.
To maintain it, it is important to avoid doing the habits that destroy them, according to the “timesofindia” website.
Excessive use of analgesics:
Over-the-counter non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) help reduce pain, but they can damage your kidneys, especially if you already have kidney disease, so it’s best to take them following consulting your doctor.
Frequent use of salt:
Diets that are high in salt (sodium) increase blood pressure and therefore the risk of kidney disease.
Eat processed foods:
Processed foods are loaded with sodium and phosphorous, so people with kidney disease should avoid eating canned foods as they are harmful to the kidneys and bones.
Neglecting hydration:
Keeping the body hydrated helps the kidneys remove sodium and toxins from the body.
In addition to drinking enough water, it also contributes to avoiding painful kidney stones.
Lack of sleep:
Kidney function is regulated by the sleep-wake cycle and thus this helps coordinate the workload of this important organ over a 24-hour period.
Too much sugar:
Consuming a lot of sugar leads to obesity, which increases the risk of high blood pressure and diabetes, both of which cause kidney disease, so it is best to avoid biscuits, spices, cereals and white bread because they contain hidden sugars.
smoking:
People who smoke are more likely to have protein in their urine, which is a sign of kidney damage.
Drinking a lot of alcohol:
People who drink a lot of alcohol double their risk of developing chronic kidney disease.
Lack of movement:
Sitting for a long time is associated with the development of kidney disease, as a sedentary lifestyle affects kidney health negatively, but regular physical activity is associated with improved blood pressure and improved metabolism, which is good for kidney health.
Eating more meat:
Animal protein generates high amounts of acids in the blood, which are harmful to the kidneys and cause acidosis, a condition in which the kidneys cannot get rid of acid quickly enough.
