Casaideas does not shrink from the arrival of Ikea: they told their strategy

The opening of the first Ikea store in Chile was big on August 10, with long lines of people and even memes on social networks. And despite the attention it has attracted, Casaideas is not afraid of the arrival of the new competition.

“It is going to add alternatives for clients, but in no way is it going to prevent us from continuing with our plan for development and growth going forward,” said the corporate general manager of Casaideas, José Luis Rodríguez in the program Pauta de Negocios.

“We know that in some things we are going to compete”

“Ikea, as everyone knows, is a tremendous company worldwide and we know that in some things we are going to compete and in others we are going to complement each other. They have proposals in other price ranges than ours, we don’t necessarily compete in everything”, Rodríguez added.

“There are going to be some sectors in which we are probably more competitive and others less, but we are convinced that our proposal, which is Chilean design, Latin American design, with a level of joy and emotion, which is difficult to replicate from other regions, It will allow us to continue growing at the speed we have been doing,” Rodríguez said.

Among the Chilean company’s plans for next year is to expand its stores throughout Latin America and have a new distribution center “that has double the capacity we have today, in order to improve our capacity, not only in storage and costs, but also the speed of distribution”, concluded the executive.
