Some may find it difficult to shed extra pounds, and according to Dr. Ivan Alemenko, an eating disorder therapist, extra weight builds up due to what’s called a “subcortical appetite,” and suggests a way to avoid it.

The specialist points out that one of the causes of eating behavior disorder is the decreased feeling of thirst, which usually appears in people who suffer from excess weight, where instead of feeling thirsty they feel hungry, according to “Russia Today”.

He says, “People who suffer from overweight and eating disorders may not feel thirsty. Instead of wanting to drink water, they may have a desire to eat something, and when a person begins to quench hunger instead of quenching thirst, he will gain more weight.” .

According to him, in order not to gain weight due to this disorder, a certain amount of fluid should be drunk daily.

He says, “It is important to stick to the drinking regime in order to reduce the effect of the so-called subcortical appetite, which appears instead of thirst. The best thing is to drink 30 milligrams per kilogram of body weight, to curb the desire to eat something and therefore weight gain.”
