Air Defense Zone breached
Chinese warplanes approach Taiwan

Beijing’s provocations towards Taiwan continue. Chinese jets once once more violated the unofficial border between the island and the People’s Republic. It might be in response to an acknowledgment to the US.

The Chinese air force has once more violated the air defense zone, according to Taiwan. The Defense Ministry said 13 warplanes flew across the median Taiwan Strait between the island and mainland China. The middle of the strait is considered the unofficial border between Taiwan and China.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Taiwan expressly thanked the United States for concrete measures to maintain security and peace in the Taiwan Strait. China’s unprovoked military and economic intimidation has strengthened cohesion in the global camp of democracies.

The President of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, visited Taiwan last week. China sees the visit as a provocation and a violation of its own sovereignty and, following its departure, launched maneuvers in the immediate vicinity of the island on an unprecedented scale.

The government in Beijing regards Taiwan as a breakaway province and is threatening all countries that maintain or establish contacts with the democratically governed island with consequences. The United States, on the other hand, has repeatedly pledged its support to Taiwan, but without giving a guarantee of assistance in the event of an attack.
