Electro-pop: «Running Up That Hill», tube repris à la sauce Luxembourgeoise

Kate Bush’s hit “Running Up That Hill” released in August 1985, saw a real second youth thanks to the series “Stranger Things”, which included it in its last season. Many revivals followed. “The X», a Luxembourg group, also wanted to release their own version. “We rediscovered this piece and we had to do it,” says the group’s guitarist. With Yacko, 36, on guitar and Sarah, 27, on vocals and piano, the famous hit of the 80s is revisited in Luxembourgish sauce with a hint of electro.

This young electro-pop group formed just two years ago, during the Covid epidemic. It is also not his first attempt, says Yacko. The two friends also play in another 70s cover band, Silk and Sonic. For his part, the guitarist is part of several other groups, including one near Rennes. “But with “The X”, we compose our own hits, he insists. Besides, we have plenty of side pieces that we will post shortly. Their sources of inspiration? Billie Eillish and Ry X.

The duo will perform on the Summerdream Festival stage in Steinfort on Saturday at 7 p.m. and on the terrace of the Mesa Verde restaurant on Sunday at 5 p.m.
