We are almost halfway through August and the schedule for the next NBA season should be dropping soon. The proof, we are starting to have small indications concerning potential posters, in particular in relation to Christmas Day which represents each year a highlight of the regular. A Mavericks – Lakers, for example, would be in the pipeline.
According to insider Marc Stein, always well informed, a first version of the 2022/23 NBA season schedule would indeed provide for a meeting between Luka Doncic’s Mavericks and LeBron James’ Lakers on the Dallas side on December 25. Nothing official yet, because as Stein indicates, changes can still be made before the official announcement of the schedule by the League. But it gets there. And obviously, it’s hard not to be hyped by this potential poster even if the start of the season is only two months away. Doncic vs LeBron is the pinnacle when it comes to a duel between maestros. The first will probably once once more be part of the candidates for the title of MVP, the Slovenian already being the favorite among some bookmakers. As for the second, he will want to continue to push the limits of the possible to soon 38 brushes and will undoubtedly come back very revengeful following the Lakers fiasco of last season. Enough to give us a nice Christmas present, provided of course that the Angelinos of LBJ and Anthony Davis offer us a completely different face than in 2021/22, and that at the same time the Mavericks confirm their very good course in the Playoffs despite the departure of Jalen Brunson in the offseason. If the poster is confirmed, it will be a remake of the Lakers – Mavs that we already had in 2020 at Staples Center, a few days following Opening Night. For the record, Los Angeles had smashed Dallas 138-115. Luka probably hasn’t forgotten…
In the days to come, we might have other small announcements that are falling in the dropper regarding the calendar for the next season, both for Christmas Day but also for the opening night where we will inevitably find the NBA champions from Golden State. The entire schedule will then drop, normally over the next week, and each franchise will then have its program from October until April 2023. Get ready, because the calendar of each of the 30 NBA franchises will be analyzed by us, like every year. The dates to circle in red, the matches not to be missed, the number of back-to-backs… you will know everything and you will be able to organize yourselves as well as possible according to the team you are supporting.
Mavericks – Lakers under the tree on Christmas Eve? Obviously we are going straight there and it is not to displease us. We are now awaiting confirmation, and the latter should fall around August 20, or even a little earlier. So keep your notifications activated, even in the middle of summer.

The first draft of next season’s NBA schedule has Lakers at Dallas/LeBron at Luka on Christmas Day, league sources tell me.
Changes are still possible before the full schedule officially drops next week but Christmas games usually hold.
