With a party, the Orinoco Fair, the former Sapoara Fair, was inaugurated.
Mayor Sergio Hernández gave him the start of “four weeks of enjoyment” as he cataloged it, although he assured that it will take place under biosecurity measures.
The Orinoco Fair returns following two years suspended due to the pandemic, “but here we are safe and with new expectations for our people,” the mayor of the Angostura del Orinoco municipality said in a press release.
Hernández said that during these days people will be able to enjoy the events scheduled for children, adolescents and adults.
He explained that people must abide by biosafety standards; as well as not bringing bottles or glass containers to the areas, since it is a way of taking care of the spaces.
“During these days, both Bolivarians and tourists will be able to enjoy the spaces destined for artisanal fishing, artistic expressions such as living statues, a sports area, the talent of entrepreneurs, among others,” Hernández said.
He also said that they continue to innovate, so this year they come with the development of a Beach Tennis court on the Mirador promenade, so that athletes and the community can enjoy this sport that is gaining popularity throughout the country.
The first frogs
The joy of the people was present with the fishing of the first sapoara, which brings blessings for all the fishermen, who predict that there will be fairs loaded with fish to feed families.
Similarly, Marisol García, director of Municipal Education, commented that with these actions traditional fishing is strengthened, which is a tourist attraction lived by people who travel from the Angostura viewpoint and on the Orinoco promenade.
Gastronomic and craft showcase of indigenous peoples
At the Angostura viewpoint, the inauguration of the Gastronomic and Artisan Showcase of the Indigenous Peoples is scheduled, with exhibitions on the elaboration of cassava, an exhibition of crafts, tasting of the gastronomy of the ethnic groups, KAri´ña, Pemón and Yekwna.

Hernández commented that 400 soldiers will be deployed along the Orinoco promenade, as well as on the transversal ones for the protection of all citizens.
For his part, the director of Municipal Citizen Security, Jerry Durán, pointed out that they will have more than 10 patrol units, 30 motorized, two rescue teams, jet skis, as well as the participation of officials from the Fanb, PEB, PNB, Patrollers of Angostura, Municipal and Aeronautical Firefighters, Sebin, Dgcim, Inea, Civil Protection and members of the preventive fronts.
