The pulse rate may be normal at the time of exertion or exposure to anxiety or danger, but a rapid pulse during times of rest may indicate a number of health problems.
Russian doctor Yuri Belnikov, a cardiologist, a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, announced that the pulse above 120 or less than 40 beats per minute, may be a symptom of serious diseases, according to “Russia Today.”
He indicates that the pulse can increase when excited and may rise to 110-120 per minute, but it does not represent a danger in that case unless it continues for a long time or continues even though the person is lying down and takes a rest, then this indicates a problem.

Belnikov explains that the cause may be due to hyperthyroidism, inflammation of the heart muscle, or even heart failure.
He adds, be aware, that a low pulse does not always indicate that everything is normal, because if the pulse drops below 40 beats per minute, a doctor should be consulted.
“In this case, certain decisions are made to compensate with the use of pacemakers,” he says.
He indicates that this is characteristic of the body or due to hyperthyroidism, and that the approximate limits of a normal pulse are between 54 and 80 beats per minute.
