Braden Wallake, CEO of an American marketing company, has been heavily criticized on social media following posting a selfie on Linkedin.
On the selfie in question, we see him, the tears flowing, because he had to lay off employees. “I debated whether to post this or not. We just had to lay off some of our employees,” he says.
Braden wanted to make people realize that not all CEOs are heartless. “I had to do the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do,” he wrote, speaking of the layoffs.
The reactions to Braden Wallake’s post were not all positive, with some finding it “too much” to have attached a photo of him crying. He then decided to respond to the negative reactions. “Hey everyone, I’m the crying CEO. No, I didn’t want to talk regarding myself or make me a victim. I’m sorry it happened like this. It was not for me to publicly give out the names of the employees,” the CEO wrote. “What I want to do now is try to improve this situation and start a thread for job seekers,” he added. He then urged people looking for a job to respond to the message, in order to help his former employees, but also other people concerned.
