Youth, peacebuilding, local governance and empowerment, is the theme on which Central African Youth celebrated this year’s International Youth Day.

The official ceremony to launch the activities planned for the occasion took place today, Friday August 12, 2022, in the hemicycle of the people’s house (National Assembly) in the presence of the Minister in charge of Youth Promotion, of Sports and Civic Education, development partners as well as the Chargé de Mission of the National Assembly and the Primature. Adopted by the Sévir Council of the United Nations in 1999, the objective of the celebration of this day is to draw the attention of the international community to the problems of youth and to celebrate the potential of young people as partners in the society. In his speech for the occasion, the Minister in charge of the Promotion of Youth, Sports and Civic Education Mr. Aristide Briand Reboas called on Central African Youth to collective awareness to meet the challenge of the hour and by elsewhere, urged young people to no longer give in to manipulations that do not honor them. # I would like to take the opportunity offered to me to challenge you to an awareness, because you are the present, I am not one of those who say that Youth in the future of a country, quite the contrary , you are the Present and you are also the future, but for that, you must demonstrate how capable you are, Young Central Africans are capable, I believe in you, I believe in your ability to meet the challenges that waiting for us #. Said the member of the government. The First Vice-President of the National Council of Central African Youth Mr. Karl Michael Kikobe, meanwhile, sent a strong message to the country’s leaders to ensure that his youth peers are taken into account in decision-making bodies, By way of illustration, he congratulated the President of the Republic, Head of State Professor Faustin Archange TOUADERA for having appointed young people in several institutions of the Republic, according to him, this sufficiently testifies to the will of the state authorities to promote United Nations Security Council Resolution 22.50. Several other activities are planned to mark this day, which is celebrated on August 12 each year.
