They denounce the existence of “VIP shots” on the coastline of Antofagasta

The mayor of Antofagasta, Jonathan Velásquez, denounced through his social networks the existence of “VIP sockets” on the coastline south of the commune of Antofagasta, specifically in a area near the El Huáscar spa.

These are constructions -some of them with two floors- in which a significant amount of money has apparently been invested, since they even have recreation areaswhich has been captured through aerial images.

It has transpired that one of those houses belongs to Jacqueline Santander, former candidate for senator in the last parliamentary elections, and current vice-president of the Commission for Women and Gender of the Socialist Party in the commune.

Although once the complaint was spread occupants of the area expressed their intention to pay rent through the land, the SEREMI of National AssetsAngelique Araya, sentence that “The taps are illegal and are not regularized”.

We have takeovers in places that belong to more vulnerable people, and yet we have still had to evacuate, because sometimes they are in risk areas or are sectors that are already planned. The law is the same for everyone,” she remarked.

The vast majority of land seizures in the region are made up of people who cannot access a housing solution, but given the quality of the homes in El Huáscar, residents of the area criticize that their occupants do not have these problems.
