Gurugram ∙ Mother stabbed to death by her son on suspicion of having a love affair. A widow was brutally murdered by her son in Haryana’s Hisar. The police informed that their son Pravesh (21) has been arrested in the case of Sona Devi (40) murder and the accused has confessed to the crime.
Sona, who returned to her native Garhi in Hisar following the death of her husband, was working as a warden in a private school in the village. He quit his job six months ago. A room was rented in the same village. Son Pravesh, who used to live in Jatwada Mohalla, Sonipat, often comes to see his mother.
He stabbed his mother several times when he came to see her on August 6. He suffocated his injured mother and ensured her death. The body was hidden under the bed so that no one would know regarding the incident. After the owner complained that there was a bad smell coming from the room, the police came to know regarding the murder.
Sona’s dead body was found following four days on Wednesday. Sona’s brother Parvinder told the police that Pravesh was a suspect in the incident. He was arrested from Rothak on Thursday. The accused told the police that his mother was having an affair with someone and had seen him talking on the phone several times and this led to the murder.
