Indeed, Moderna says research is underway to develop an annual one-dose booster vaccine to combat COVID, influenza and other respiratory issues.

According to the CEO of Moderna, the idea is that the vaccine evolves much like an iPhone.

“Many of us buy the new iPhone every year in September. There are new apps, and there are updates. It’s exactly the same idea with the vaccine. You will have a vaccine once morest COVID, once morest the flu and once morest other respiratory diseases in a single dose”, explains Stéphane Bancel.

He also confirms that the company also has a dozen other products in development, including a vaccine once morest cancer and another once morest monkeypox.
