According to our correspondent, an altercation went wrong on avenue de Waterloo, in the upper town of Charleroi, around 7 p.m. on Thursday evening. Two individuals would have come to blows, until one of them pulled out a saber and struck his opponent.
The local police of Charleroi, an ambulance and an SMUR were sent urgently, but once on the spot the victim refused to be taken on board by the emergency services.
This is not the first time that a fight has broken out in the streets on Waterloo/Hénin avenues. Almost every evening since the start of the heat wave, residents have reported the sound of broken glass, screams, and the police were even informed of a fight last week between a dozen individuals armed with iron bars.
