120 million euros! Kühne with a rescue plan for HSV

Spectacular push by Klaus-Michael Kühne! The HSV patron wants to grant HSV Fußball AG a further cash injection of 120 million euros – but makes his offer subject to tough conditions.

The entrepreneur’s money would only flow through Kühne Holding AG if the financially troubled second division club agreed to a “ten-point program for the restructuring of the traditional Hamburg club”.

Point nine of the conditions is particularly exciting, it says: “The supervisory board and board of directors of HSV Fußball AG are filled in such a way that the club is managed properly, competently and success-oriented”.

Bold “ten-point program for the renovation of the traditional Hamburg club”

A clear dig at the previous management, especially the relationship between Kühne and board member Thomas Wüstefeld is considered shattered. In addition, the billionaire wants to be given the right, like the parent company, to “send two people named by them to the supervisory board”.

In addition, Kühne wants to reorganize the distribution of shares in the outsourced Fußball AG via the possible capital increase, HSV eV should only hold 50.1 percent (previously around 75 percent), Kühne Holding AG “approx. 39.9” percent (previously around 15 percent). This would require the consent of the members.

Kühne wants to pay for the Uwe-Seeler-Stadion

In addition, Kühne confirmed the proposal he had already made to have the Volkspark Stadium renamed the “Uwe-Seeler-Stadion”. “For a period of 10 years” he was ready “to pay HSV Fußball AG an annual fee for the naming rights of EUR 3-4 million, i.e. a total of EUR 30-40 million over a ten-year period.”, as stated in a message was called.

The tenth point in Kühne’s plan concludes: “A successful performance by the HSV team in the 2nd Bundesliga should be the primary objective of everyone involved, which requires a high level of competence and integrity in the management personalities on the supervisory board and board. This must be accompanied by a leap of faith for the sporting leadership as well as for the team.

A real bombshell that Kühne dropped there. It will be interesting to see the reactions from the club.
