After we received the news a few days ago that the release of the video game The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was being postponed by a few months, we are really looking forward to replenishment in the form of the Amazon Prime mega series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of the Makes. It will be available on the Amazon streaming service on September 2nd, 2022. Peter Jackson, the director behind The Lord of the Rings trilogy, has now fittingly announced that he would like to completely forget regarding all the films and was even on the verge of seeking professional help.
Why does Jackson want to forget his own work?
Jackson is responsible for the acclaimed and award-winning film trilogy The Lord of the Rings. In the Awards Chatter podcast for The Hollywood Reporter, he now reflects on the making of his popular film series, even revealing that he was considering enlisting the professional help of a hypnotherapist to forget his work in the Lord of the Rings universe.
Why does he have such thoughts? Not because he hates fantasy films, but so that he can enjoy the masterpieces once more, fresh and unbiased.
“When we were making the films, I always thought of myself as the unfortunate person that they were [die Der-Herr-der-Ringe-Filme] “I’ve been working on them for five or six years by the time they came out,” Jackson revealed in an interview. It was a great loss for me not being able to watch the films like everyone else.”
Everything to zero
Jackson then continued, “I thought regarding going to a hypnotherapist just to forget the movies and the work I put into it for six or seven years and sit down and enjoy the movies all over once more “. He admitted that he had previously discussed hypnosis with British magician Derren Brown.
However, nothing came of it. A small consolation for the star director should be that he has nothing to do with the new Amazon series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. At least he’ll be able to experience them like a fan and with an open mind. Which movie would you like to forget in order to relive it? Feel free to write in the comments!
