The organization announced the news on Thursday. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, her runner-up Shericka Jackson and Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah will meet on August 26 for a summit clash in the 100m at the Lausanne Diamond League meeting. The three Jamaicans monopolized the last podium of the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2021 (Thompson-Herah ahead of Fraser-Pryce and Jackson 3rd) and that of the World Championships in Eugene in July (Fraser-Pryce ahead of Jackson and Thompson-Herah).
This reunion should push the three stars to surpass themselves, enough to shake the world record of the American Florence Griffith-Joyner (10”49 in 1988) if the weather conditions are favorable. At 35, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is indeed in the shape of her life: on Wednesday in Monaco she set her 6th time of the year in less than 10.70, further improving to 10.62 the best performance of the season.
