Léo/Lions club Ouaga Acacia: Akim Salia succeeds Sidiki Kébé Traoré

Léo, August 10, 2022 (AIB) – Akim Salia took over as head of the International Lions Club Ouagadougou Acacia during a tenuous ceremony on July 02 and 03, 2022 at the Sissilis hotel in Léo, replacing Sidiki Kébé Traoré.

Akime Salia succeeded Sidiki Kébé Traoré as head of the Ouaga Acacia Lions Club for the 2022-2023 period.

The outgoing president, Sidiki Kébé Traoré congratulated his successor Akim Salia for his appointment at the head of the club and wished him every success for this mandate.

He also thanked all the members of the club to whom he owes the success of his mandate.

He then invited them to provide the same support to the new president for the achievement of common objectives.

Mr. Traoré also indicated that the objectives set were largely exceeded.

In terms of assessment, he cited the integration of new members, charitable works, tree planting, rehabilitation and equipment of pediatrics and maternity of the CMA of Léo.

However Sidiki Kébé Traoré estimated that much remains to be done for the club to develop further as it should in order to remain leader in the city.

In his inauguration speech, the new commander of the ship Lionin Akim Salia thanked his peers for the trust placed in him.

He promised to assume with honor and dignity the heavy mission entrusted to him with the support of all.

“Only teamwork seems motivating to me, and I am counting on your increased involvement so that we succeed together as best as possible in this 2022-2023 mandate”, he hinted.

He therefore paid strong tribute to his predecessor for the quality of the work done during his mandate.

According to Mr. Salia, his mandate is placed under the sign of continuity, tolerance and charity.

The day of Sunday July 3 was devoted to the reception of the pediatrics of the CMA of Léo renovated up to ten million FCFA by the Lions clubs Ouaga Acacia and its partners in particular the Brakina.

This renovation was accompanied by the latest generation medical-technical equipment consisting of vacuum cleaners, blood pressure monitors for babies, beds, tables and childbirth kits for pediatrics and maternity.

This equipment is valued at more than 13 million CFA francs.

The ceremony brought together the members of the Lions Club Ouaga Acacia, their families and friends as well as the authorities to not only commemorate twenty years of friendship but also pass the torch to a new management team.

The local authorities expressed all the gratitude of the populations towards the donors for this mark of humanism.

The High Commissioner, Sié Aristide Mohamed Kam invited the officials of the health district of Léo to take good care of the renovated infrastructure as well as the equipment for the well-being of the patients.

“I would especially like to thank you for the choice and the constancy brought to our commune since last year and to convey to you all our gratitude for the useful work which has been carried out for the benefit of our populations, namely the rehabilitation of the pediatrics of our CMA” affirmed the president of the special delegation of Léo, Moctar Ilboudo.

The visit to the pediatrics premises and the official handing over of the equipment put an end to the ceremony.
