Emirates News Agency – Real Madrid crowned the European Super Cup for the fifth time

Helsinki, 10 August / WAM / Real Madrid won the European Super Cup for the 2021/22 season following beating Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 on Wednesday at the Olympic Stadium in the Finnish capital Helsinki.

Real Madrid, who won the Spanish League and Champions League titles, won the European Super Cup for the fifth time in its history, equaling this record for the number of titles in the tournament, which was registered in the name of Barcelona and AC Milan.

Eintracht Frankfurt, who won the European League title last season, lost their first match in the history of the tournament, as they played the European Super for the first time.

Real Madrid began his season with the Super Cup, knowing that he will start the journey to defend the Spanish League title early next week.

Real Madrid ended the first half with a clean goal scored by Austrian defender David Alaba in the 37th minute, then the team consolidated its victory in the second half with a goal scored by French striker Karim Benzema in the 65th minute.
