A call to the national population to maintain the biosecurity measures and social distancing during the holiday season, made the National Academy of Medicine once more in the face of the growing increase in cases of COVID-19.
The statement was made by the vice president of the AcademiaHuniades Urbina, warning that citizens cannot relax, since the occupation of the emergency (from COVID-19) has had a substantial increase, but not in intensive care, where the occupation of mechanical ventilators remains in a low or medium trend.
It reveals that currently, 538,435 cases have been detected in Venezuela since the declaration of the coronavirus pandemic and, of that figure, only 4,800 are active, which is why health professionals insist that the population must complete the program of vaccinesespecially with the new strains that circulate in the country and due to its mild symptoms, people have assumed it to be a flu, assured the doctor.
