The filmmaker Peter Jackson, known in particular for his films The Lord of the Rings wanted to test hypnosis to erase his own memories.

With his trilogy The Lord of the Rings, released between 2001 and 2003, New Zealand director Peter Jackson has a special place in the hearts of fans. Despite everything, it seems that the man is not totally comfortable with his work. So, recently guest on the podcast The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter Jackson revealed a rather disturbing information.

Peter Jackson tries hypnosis to forget

We can learn that Peter Jackson tried hypnosis to forget his film saga. Indeed, Jackson wanted to see the work he created as a fan, without knowing anything regarding it beforehand, putting aside his work as a director:

When we were making the ‘Lord of the Rings’ films, I always felt like the unfortunate person that never got to be seen as a totally unexpected film,” said the director and three-time award winner. ‘an Oscar.

I actually seriously considered going to a hypnotherapist to get over the movies and the work I’ve been doing for the past six or seven years so I can sit back and enjoy it merely.

Finally the director did not go to the end of the process. He also explains at the same time his interest in the Amazon series with glowing terms:

I’m going to see her. I’m not the kind of person who wants things to go wrong. The production process is hard enough. If someone makes a good movie or TV series, it should be celebrated. What I’m looking forward to is being able to see him as a perfectly normal viewer.

We imagine indeed that it must be very difficult to immerse oneself in one’s own work with a neutral gaze. Even more when it comes to a saga that is so successful.
