Strida Geagea: The Presidential Station is the only crossroads to change the descent path

MP Strida Geagea held a meeting in Maarab, in the presence of former MP Joseph Ishak, President of the Union of Municipalities of Bcharre District Elie Makhlouf, contractor Mark Ghawi, accompanied by director in the company Serge Bou Haidar, Vice President of the Jabal Al-Arz Foundation, Laila Geagea, and chosen treasurer Fadi Chidiac, The Secretary, Attorney Mario Saab, and the participation of the General Assembly member, Engineer Nadim Salameh, the financial expert Fadi Eid and the deputy representative of Geagea Romanos al-Shaar, discussed the signing of the award contract for the project to construct a rock wall to protect the Bekaa Kafra Lake from any cracks that might occur in its earthen structure in the future. It might, God forbid, lead to a water leakage from it, which might threaten its collapse and consequently a natural and human catastrophe that might claim the lives of a large number of people.

Geagea stressed that “the station for the presidential elections is currently the only crossroads available to us in order to change the declining path that the country is taking at all economic, financial, monetary and living levels,” noting that “this station can change the direction towards an upward path through which the country begins to exit. From the hell in which those who control power and monopolize it today threw us.”

She said: “Today I was drawn to an article by journalist Rashid Fayed dealing with the issue of the presidency, where he said: With his nomination, Geagea drew the highest ceiling for the presidential battle, and opened the door for anyone who wants to advance under this roof. Indeed, the journalist Fayed was right in his description and he fully knew the essence of The step taken by Al-Hakim in his last press conference on June 3, 2022, when he put his candidacy for the presidency on the shelf, in order for the opposition forces to agree on a single sovereign candidate working to bring him to the presidency, and this clearly shows that nothing with Al-Hakim is above the supreme national interest and the interest of the people Lebanese”.

She called on the 67 Sovereign Representatives and the two changes to “whatever party, party or ideological premises they belong to, in order to put the supreme national interest and the people’s interest above any other interest, whatever the nature of this interest, and to intensify efforts and communication among us in order to reach agreement on a single sovereign candidate.” We will wage the battle of the presidency and bring him to the helm of responsibility in order to start bringing regarding the change that the people elected us and gave us their trust and their parliamentary agencies to bring regarding.”

And she concluded: “As long as we still have free pens in this country like that of journalist Rashid Al-Fayed, and as long as we still have media institutions like Al-Nahar newspaper that struggle and struggle in these circumstances in order to continue to tell the truth, the world is a thousand good, and we must be victorious in the end and continue.” To Lebanon, which the Lebanese dream of, and for which the best of our youth and a large group of our leaders were martyred, and I remember on this occasion the martyr Gibran Tueni.

Noting that Representative Geagea took it upon herself to secure the cost of the wall, which amounts to $250,000, and stressed during the meeting that it be built with the highest specifications and using the latest modern technologies because the safety of our people in the town of Bekaa Kafra and the neighboring towns is essential and there is no room to risk it at all. I asked the attendees to pay attention to this matter and follow up on the construction of the wall closely and closely, both from his background and specialization.
