Resistance exercises are one of the most popular exercises at the moment, as people resort to them in order to strengthen muscles and improve body strength, and they also have other benefits for the body.
In the following report, “Consulto” reviews the benefits of resistance exercises, according to the “Healthline” website.
What are resistance exercises?
Resistance exercise is defined as muscle training, or any physical movement in which external weights are used, with the aim of building muscle mass, strength and endurance.
The benefits of resistance exercises
1- Increase body strength
Resistance exercises greatly help to increase body strength, in addition to improving athletic performance when practicing sports that need speed and strength, by maintaining lean muscle mass.

2- Burn calories
Resistance exercises enhance the metabolism, so exercising regularly helps to increase the metabolic rate in the body and thus increase the burning of extra calories in the body.

3- Reduce belly fat
Excess body fat, especially in the abdominal area, may increase the chances of developing chronic diseases, including diabetes, heart disease, liver disease, and certain types of cancer, so doing resistance exercises helps to get rid of belly fat.

4- Improve heart health
Studies have shown that resistance exercise helps significantly reduce blood pressure, lower total and bad cholesterol, and improve blood circulation by strengthening the heart and blood vessels.
