U.S. House Speaker Pelosi said on Thursday that China’s reaction to her visit to Taiwan had not deterred U.S. Congress members, and that they were behaving like Chinese President Xi Jinping “like a frightened bully.”
Pelosi said on NBC’s show that Xi is “insecure regarding himself.” “That’s not going to make me change the schedules of members of Congress,” he said.
“We are not complicit in Xi’s isolation of Taiwan,” he said on MSNBC’s program, saying China cannot control the schedules of members of Congress.
“He is in a vulnerable position,” he said, referring to the Chinese economy. “He’s acting like a frightened bully,” he continued.
