Marwan Khoury criticizes the presence of artists on social media, “I do not feel belonging to this scene.”

The Lebanese artist Marwan Khoury spoke regarding his position on the daily presence of artists on social media, considering that the situation is unhealthy and stressing that the matter is controlling the minds of the song makers.

Marwan said in an interview with “Al-Sharq al-Awsat” newspaper that artists have become obsessed with searching “for a rhythm that is a trend or hashtag on social media,” adding that he did not lose hope in the “Al-Sami’a” of the new generation who is still friendly despite their low number, and said, ” They still hear the song as an emotional state and are affected by the melody and speech, and do not deal with it as a mere (trend) or dance.”

Marwan Khoury admitted that he “does not feel fully affiliated with the artistic scene as in the past,” noting that he considered this recently, and said, “Music is transformed, and what is happening now is temporary, and will not create a permanent artistic state.”

And Marwan continued, during his speech: “I never quit and what comes from works will confirm this. Music is my life and I still have a lot to say. I learned adaptation and adaptation from adults who preceded me and inspired me, such as musician Mohamed Abdel Wahab, who mastered keeping pace with artistic waves and excelled in the game of evolution, from the thirties of the last century Until the eighties.”
