WhatsApp extends the time limit for deleting a message to two days

WhatsApp has extended the time during which you can delete content sent in a conversation. We now have a little over 2 days (2 days and 12 hours exactly) to erase his remarks, once morest a little over an hour previously (1 hour, 8 minutes and 16 seconds).

After these deadlines, you can continue to delete your own messages, but you will only have the choice to delete them for yourself, not for all the other participants.

A message that is still in the global deletion window

This possibility of modification is rather to be considered for small errors without major consequences (faults, bad group, event ended, etc.) Whether it is an hour or two days, the recipients will have been able to see the notification, take a screenshot and deleted images followingwards might have been automatically saved in Photos if this option is activated.

And for this new deadline to be fully exploited, everyone must also be up to date with their WhatsApp. Because there will be no information in return that the message might not be deleted from the conversation of another participant.

In its upcoming release on iOS 16/Ventura, Apple has integrated an unsend feature into Messages. Over the betas its behavior has been modified, the cancellation window has been closed from 15 minutes to 2 minutes.
