Last week, the Duffer brothers began writing the fifth and final season of the hit Netflix series Stranger Things.
The creators of the series were the guests of the American podcast Happy Sad Confused. The opportunity for Matt and Ross Duffer to confirm a few small details concerning the final season of the series.
Season 4 was marked by nine long, if not very long, episodes. The last two episodes were 85 and 140 minutes respectively, for almost thirteen hours of footage in total.
The final chapter of Stranger Things should be shorter. They explain themselves.
“The only reason we don’t want to make a final season as long as the last is because if you look closely, there’s almost two hours of build-up before the kids are really immersed in the mystery. and the fantastic. You have to get to know them, immerse yourself in their lives, understand their desires and fears, see them adapt to high school or not, and everything in between. Obviously, there’s no point in doing it once more in the first two episodes of season 5. For the first time in the series, the end of season 4 is not a conclusion in its own right. Everything will therefore follow very quickly from the start of season 5. The characters will already be at the heart of the action, they will already have a goal to achieve and I think that will save us at least a few hours and make this really different season. I’m sure the end of the season will however be much longer, in the style of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, but with at least eight different epilogues.
However, fans of the series will have to be patient: the conclusion of the adventures of Eleven and her comrades should not arrive before 2024 or even 2025.
