The video game industry has several highlights known to the general public. But it also has just as many moments dedicated to a more professional audience. SIGGRAPH is one of many taking place in Vancouver. Focused on computer graphics and graphic design techniques, this is an event for all professionals, regardless of their level of experience and which has existed for nearly 50 years. This is an opportunity for Xbox to meet new talent, present cutting-edge technologies and talk regarding inclusivity. As a result, the brand will have several representatives including Playground Games, The Coalition and Sarah Bond.
The first will hold a symposium on the technical prowess of Forza Horizon 5 in the company of Gareth Hartwood, technical artistic director within the studio. The second will discuss around a round table how to create a favorable work environment as well as a BTS of their technical demos on the Unreal Engine 5 with Colin Penty, technical artistic director. Finally, Sarah Bond will address the theme of the use of virtual universes as a vector for improving the real world of tomorrow.
The creative talent of artists, animators and designers who create virtual worlds has never been more important than today. It is the ingenuity and empathy of the SIGGRAPH community that will define the digital worlds we will all experience in the future. Creators have the opportunity – and the responsibility – to define these worlds as positive, inclusive, empowering and, of course, fun!
