The effect of vitamin D deficiency on the nerves
In this regard, Dr. Ahmed Kamal, Professor of Neurology at Kasr Al-Ainy College of Medicine, said that the lack of vitamin D in the body negatively affects the central nervous system, threatening it with the risk of some diseases.

He emphasized that vitamin D deficiency also affects the cognitive functions of the brain and mental health, as it increases the risk of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and depression in the long term.
Causes of Vitamin D deficiency
He revealed that vitamin D deficiency in the body results from many reasons, most notably:
Decreased exposure to sunlight.
Follow a vitamin D-free diet.
Having dark skin, because the low percentage of melanin pigment in it makes the body less vitamin D when exposed to sunlight.
Liver and kidney disease.
